GreenBox of Hope (June 12)
May 21st

GreenBox is donating one of their innovative, environmentally friendly, portable pre-fabricated buildings for a dwelling place at Dignity Village. On Saturday, June 12th we get to build it!
Dignity Village is a city-recognized encampment of homeless people in Portland. Homeless folks in Portland who were tired of sleeping under bridges and in door ways started “tent city”; after being recognized by the city it was deemed Dignity Village.
The village is registered as a 501(c)3. Its really impressive as they have a general civic structure, basic rules of order and community gardens as well as revenue generation opportunity. there is an office and community restroom. other than that residents build small structures to live in.

What:
God has changed us with His gift of love and calls us to love those around us (neighbors) with the same kind of love. Wednesday, the 23rd, the High School is going to share some love. We know it doesn’t take much to love those around us, so our desire is to go downtown and hand-out hand/foot warmers to the homeless. We will meet at Willamette Christian Church @ 7pm and return by 9pm. To go with us, you must have a permission slip signed by your legal guardian. It’s as simple as that. See you there.
Wanna Help?
Parents! We could use your help. If you would be interested in helping transport kids downtown, please let me know.
