A great garage sale for Mexico!
May 3rd

We defied the weather and successfully completed a garage sale this weekend as a fundraiser for the Mexico 2011 trip.
More than $2K was raised. (Wow!)
Many thanks to all who helped, donated, served, and of course the buyers as well!
How change happens
Apr 28th
Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 3:12-18 reminds us that change doesn’t just ‘happen.’ When we behold the Holy One we become like Him. When we stare at Jesus His Spirit changes us:
12 Since we have such a hope, we are very bold,
13 not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end.
14 But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.
15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts.
16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
The high school leaders read this passage, and prayed through it tonight before the students arrived. We trust change will more than happen.

Worship = Sacrifice (teaching clip)
Apr 8th
Chris Nye teaches on Worship = Sacrifice…
The message this week was on Sacrifice, which is another way of talking about what we value. At its core, sacrifice is giving up or letting go of something that is valuable in order to gain something that has longer lasting value. Put like this, it’s clear that we sacrifice every day, but not always for the right things. See, we don’t need to just start sacrificing different things, but we need to get at the root: what do we value? Sometimes we sacrifice sleep because we want to watch a TV show, or sometimes we sacrifice money for a pair of shoes we think will give us long lasting happiness.
The truth is, we know how to sacrifice, but we don’t value the right things. In getting to know God and understanding what he has done for us through the gospel, it is clear that he is to be valued, and that we can sacrifice anything in order to gain the total joy he gives.
Confession: the healing begins
Apr 6th
Watch this & then join us back after the jump…
Christians who have the confidence and courage to acknowledge and confess their sins are happiest, healthiest people in the entire world.
That’s because we gain the courage and confidence to confess our sins before God and to others when we trust God is truly merciful, loving & forgiving (see Psalm 51).
While God is everywhere, He’s designed the universe that the only place we can go to confess and repent and find life is the Cross of His Son.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

What’s “Ask & Explore?” (a resource for parents)
Mar 31st
Every week we send out a summary of the worship experience with students, focusing on the themes and Scriptures from our teaching and response time. We call this “Ask & Explore” simply because what we learn and enjoy each week should be explored together both students with their parents. What better way to explore than by asking questions? It’s a simple tool parents have asked to help connect God’s Word to the parent-student relationship, bringing the message to real-life.
The questions are the same ones we wrestle with in our small group times. Leaders, students, parents, asking the same heart questions, seeing God change our minds and our hearts.
We deeply desire to partner with parents — and that each would feel encouraged, supported, equipped, and involved in God’s process to nurture students’ faith in Jesus. So … Ask. Explore. Let us know how we can help.
(We send these out for middle school as well.)
Thank you again for the privilege of investing in your students!
Because Jesus is everything,
